Possible Causes
Damaged or misinstalled enclosure gasket, Incorrect wall penetration or conduit sealing, Mounting on uneven surface causing gaps, Cracked housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Water inside an energized enclosure is dangerous. Turn off the breaker immediately.
- Step 1 – De‑energize and dry: With power OFF, open the enclosure and gently dry visible moisture with lint‑free cloths. Allow the unit to air dry for at least 24 hours.
- Step 2 – Inspect seals: Check the door gasket, cable gland seals, and any conduit entries for cracks, gaps, or misalignment.
- Step 3 – Correct mounting: Ensure the charger is mounted plumb and flat against the wall so the gasket can seal properly.
- Step 4 – Reseal penetrations: Use appropriate outdoor‑rated sealant or fittings around conduit and cable entries as specified by Electrify America.
- Step 5 – Replace damaged parts: Replace any cracked housing components, gaskets, or cable glands. Once fully dry and reassembled, restore power and test.
