Possible Causes
Loose mounting of output contactor, Worn contactor coil, Loose transformer or inductor in power module, Resonance in enclosure panels
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before tightening or touching internal components.
- Step 1 – Identify source: Listen carefully to locate whether the noise comes from the top, bottom, or side of the "Electrify Home" unit.
- Step 2 – Tighten mounting screws: With power OFF and cover removed, tighten mounting screws for the contactor, power module, and any large inductors or transformers.
- Step 3 – Check enclosure panels: Ensure the front cover and any side panels are fully seated and screws are snug to prevent rattling.
- Step 4 – Monitor: Restore power and observe. A soft hum is normal; loud buzzing that persists may indicate a failing contactor coil or power component.
- Step 5 – Replace noisy component: If the noise is localized to the contactor or power module and is excessive, replacement is recommended.
