Possible Causes

Disconnected load‑sharing communication cable between chargers, Incorrect termination or addressing, Damaged RS‑485 or CAN communication port on control board, Misconfigured master/slave roles

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power to all chargers in the group before modifying wiring.

  • Step 1 – Verify configuration: Check that one "Electrify Home" charger is set as master and others as slaves according to the manual. Ensure addresses or IDs are unique.
  • Step 2 – Inspect communication cabling: With power OFF, inspect the daisy‑chain communication cable (often twisted pair) between chargers. Ensure all connectors are fully seated and polarity (A/B) is consistent.
  • Step 3 – Check termination: Confirm that termination resistors or switches are set correctly at the ends of the communication bus, as specified by Electrify Home.
  • Step 4 – Test individually: Power up a single charger disconnected from the bus. If it works alone but fails when connected, the issue is likely on the communication bus or another charger.
  • Step 5 – Replace damaged port/board: If one unit consistently triggers E13 when connected, its communication interface on the main control board may be damaged and require replacement.
