Possible Causes

Leakage current detected by internal RCD sensor, Moisture inside connector or cable, Damaged insulation in charge cable, Faulty ground fault detection module on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not repeatedly reset a ground fault without inspection. Turn OFF power at the breaker before handling the unit.

  • Step 1 – Dry environment: If the charger or connector has been exposed to rain or washing, allow it to dry for several hours. Store the connector in its holster, off the ground.
  • Step 2 – Inspect connector and cable: Look for cracks, cuts, or burn marks on the cable and connector. Check for water droplets or condensation inside the connector shroud.
  • Step 3 – Check building ground: Verify that the supply circuit has a solid ground connection. Loose or missing ground can cause nuisance trips. Have a qualified electrician test the ground impedance.
  • Step 4 – Reset and test: Restore power at the breaker, then use the Enel X app or front panel to clear the error (if supported). Plug into the vehicle and monitor for reoccurrence.
  • Step 5 – Internal RCD check (advanced): With power OFF and cover removed, visually inspect the residual current sensor ring and its wiring to the control board for signs of overheating or loose connections. Do not bypass or short this sensor.
  • When to call a pro: If E03 recurs immediately, or if you see damaged insulation, replace the charge cable assembly. If the cable is good, the RCD sensor or main control board likely needs replacement by an authorized technician.
