Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around charger, High ambient temperature, Failed internal cooling fan (if equipped), Loose or degraded thermal sensor on power module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Overheating can lead to fire. If the enclosure feels very hot or smells burnt, turn OFF the breaker immediately.
- Step 1 – Check installation location: Ensure the Enel X charger has the required clearance around it (per manual) and is not exposed to direct sun or enclosed in a small, unventilated cabinet.
- Step 2 – Inspect vents: Remove dust, cobwebs, or debris from any ventilation slots using a dry cloth or vacuum. Do not spray liquids.
- Step 3 – Cooldown and reset: Allow the unit to cool for 30–60 minutes with power OFF. Then restore power and attempt charging again.
- Step 4 – Internal fan check (if present): With power ON and cover removed only if you are qualified, listen for the internal cooling fan when charging starts. If the fan does not run, it may be seized or disconnected.
- Step 5 – Thermal sensor inspection (advanced): With power OFF, locate the thermal sensor attached to the power module or heat sink. Ensure it is firmly attached and its wiring to the control board is intact.
- Resolution: Replace a failed cooling fan or thermal sensor as needed. If E08 persists despite good airflow and components, the power module or main control board may be overheating internally and should be replaced by a technician.
