Possible Causes
Faulty internal kWh meter, Loose meter communication cable, Incorrect meter configuration, Meter power supply failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power before accessing internal components.
- Step 1 – Reboot and retry: Power cycle the charger at the breaker and see if E16 clears.
- Step 2 – App configuration: In the Enel X app or web portal, verify that the internal meter type and settings match the installed hardware.
- Step 3 – Internal inspection: With power OFF, open the unit and locate the internal energy meter module. Check that its power and communication connectors are firmly seated.
- Step 4 – Visual check: Look for LEDs on the meter (if present). No lights may indicate a power issue to the meter.
- Resolution: Replace the internal energy meter module if it does not power up or communicate. If a new meter still reports E16, the main control board communication interface may be defective.
