Possible Causes

Faulty RFID reader, Loose reader cable, Damaged front panel, Misconfigured user access list

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Authentication faults are not electrical hazards, but always turn OFF power before opening the enclosure.

  • Step 1 – Test multiple cards: Try several authorized RFID cards or fobs to rule out a single bad card.
  • Step 2 – App access list: In the Enel X app or portal, verify that the cards are correctly registered and that access control mode is configured as intended.
  • Step 3 – Clean reader area: Wipe the RFID reader surface with a dry, soft cloth to remove dirt or stickers that may interfere with reading.
  • Step 4 – Internal check: With power OFF, open the unit and ensure the RFID reader cable is firmly connected to the main control board.
  • Resolution: Replace the RFID reader module/front panel assembly if it does not respond. If a new reader still shows E22, the main control board may be at fault.
