Possible Causes
Contactor contacts welded closed, Faulty voltage feedback sensing on output, Miswired line/load connections inside charger, Control board logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger: This error can indicate live voltage at the connector when it should be off. Turn OFF the breaker and do not use the charger.
- Do not plug into vehicle: Until a technician confirms the output is safe, keep the J1772 connector unplugged from any vehicle.
- Check installation wiring: A qualified electrician should verify that line and load terminals inside the charger are wired exactly as specified by Enphase, and that no external contactors are miswired.
- Technician testing: With the unit open (technician only), measure voltage at the output when the charger is idle. Any unexpected voltage suggests welded contacts or a sensing fault.
- Replace components as needed: If the contactor is welded, replace the main contactor assembly. If feedback circuitry is faulty, replace the control/power board.
