Possible Causes

Open or shorted contactor coil, Failed contactor driver transistor on PCB, Loose coil wiring, Incorrect coil voltage contactor fitted

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power and verify absence of voltage before working inside the charger.

  • Visual inspection: Locate the main contactor and inspect the coil terminals and wiring for looseness or damage.
  • Measure coil resistance: With the charger isolated, disconnect one coil lead and measure resistance across the coil. An open circuit or extremely low resistance indicates a faulty coil; replace the contactor with the EO‑specified part.
  • Check coil voltage rating: Confirm that the installed contactor coil voltage matches the EO design (e.g., 230 V AC or 24 V DC). An incorrect replacement can cause E15.
  • Inspect PCB driver: Look for burn marks or damaged components in the area of the contactor driver on the main PCB. If present, the PCB will likely need replacement.
  • Reassemble and test: After replacing the contactor or PCB, reassemble the unit, restore power, and initiate a test charge to confirm that E15 is cleared.
