Possible Causes
Loose control pilot connection in cable, Overheating connector causing thermal derating, Fluctuating supply voltage, Faulty vehicle inlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Repeated interruptions can indicate overheating or wiring issues. Monitor for heat and burning smells.
- Check connector temperature: During charging, periodically touch the plastic body of the connector; it should be warm but not uncomfortably hot. If very hot, stop using and inspect for damage.
- Inspect cable: Look for kinks, cuts, or crushed sections. Replace the cable if any damage is found.
- Test with another EV: If dropouts only occur with one vehicle, the issue may be with that vehicle's onboard charger.
- Monitor supply: Ask an electrician to check for voltage dips or nuisance tripping on the supply circuit.
- If intermittent faults persist across vehicles and supply is stable: Replace the EVBox cable assembly and, if needed, the main control board.
