Possible Causes

Jammed mechanical lock pin in Type 2 socket, Failed lock actuator motor, Broken lock position sensor, Foreign object in socket locking channel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not force the connector out of the socket with tools; this can damage the socket and vehicle inlet.

  • Power down: Turn off the charger at the breaker to ensure the lock is de‑energized.
  • Inspect socket: Use a flashlight to look into the Type 2 socket for debris, ice, or foreign objects around the locking pin area. Carefully remove any visible debris with non‑metallic tools.
  • Gently wiggle connector: With power still off, gently rock the connector while pulling straight out. Do not twist excessively.
  • Restore power and test lock: Turn power back on and start a session to see if the lock engages and releases normally.
  • If E015 persists: The lock actuator or position sensor is likely faulty. Replace the Type 2 socket/lock assembly according to EVBox service instructions.
