Possible Causes

Failed LCD or LED display module, Loose ribbon cable between display and control board, Backlight failure, HMI board power issue

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker before removing the front cover or display bezel.

  • Check backlight: In a dark environment, shine a flashlight at the display. If faint characters are visible, the backlight has failed.
  • Power-cycle: Turn OFF the breaker for 2 minutes, then ON to see if the display recovers.
  • Inspect connections (technician): With power OFF, a technician can reseat the ribbon cable between the EVgo control board and display module.

If the display remains blank, the display/HMI module will need replacement. Charging may still be possible via app control in the meantime.
