Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker before tightening any electrical connections. Do not touch hot or discolored components.
- Monitor temperature: During a charge, periodically feel (carefully) the EVgo connector and cable. If they become excessively hot, stop using the charger and have it inspected.
- Check wiring tightness: With power OFF, verify that all line and ground lugs in the charger and at the breaker are tight to the specified torque.
- Disable smart features temporarily: Turn off any load management, demand response, or scheduled stop features in the EVgo app to rule out software‑initiated stops.
- Test with another vehicle: If dropouts only occur with one EV, the issue may be with that vehicle’s onboard charger.
Persistent unexplained dropouts warrant a visit from an EVgo‑authorized technician to check for thermal issues, contactor performance, and control board logs.
