Display shows E07; charger will not start charging even though vehicle is connected
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This involves internal high‑voltage components. Turn OFF the breaker and do not attempt to bypass safety relays.
- Power reset: Turn OFF the breaker for 5 minutes, then ON. Attempt to start a charge. If E07 reappears immediately, leave the unit off.
- Listen for relay clicks: During startup, you may hear one or more faint clicks. No clicks or rapid chattering can indicate a relay or driver issue.
- Check for prior events: If E07 started after a known power surge, lightning event, or breaker trip, internal relays may have been damaged.
Because relay self‑test is a critical safety function, the EVgo charger should be serviced by an authorized technician. They will test the internal safety relays and replace the relay module or main control board as required.
