Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before opening the charger enclosure.
- Power-cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. Observe whether the charger boots normally or immediately shows E09.
- Check status LEDs: If visible through vents or after cover removal (technician level), note any diagnostic LEDs on the control or power module. A completely dark module may indicate loss of low‑voltage power.
- Inspect harness connections: With power OFF, gently press on all low‑voltage connectors between the EVgo main control board and the power module. Look for loose plugs or damaged locking tabs.
If E09 persists, the internal communication bus or one of the boards is likely defective. An EVgo‑authorized technician should perform board‑level diagnostics and replace the main control board or power module as needed.
