Possible Causes

Missing or loose equipment grounding conductor, Ground and neutral bonded in subpanel feeding EVgo charger, High resistance ground connection, Faulty internal ground monitoring circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ground faults are serious. Turn OFF the breaker and do not use the charger until the grounding issue is resolved by a qualified electrician.

  • Verify ground conductor: Confirm that a dedicated ground wire from the EVgo charger is securely connected to the grounding bar in the service panel or subpanel.
  • Check neutral‑ground bond: In subpanels, neutral and ground must be isolated. If they are bonded, E10 or nuisance trips can occur. Have an electrician correct any improper bonding.
  • Inspect ground lug in charger: With power OFF, open the charger and verify the ground wire is firmly attached to the internal ground lug and that the lug is tight to the chassis.

If wiring is correct and E10 persists, the EVgo charger’s internal ground monitoring circuit may be defective and should be tested and replaced by an authorized technician.
