Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker. Do not use the charger if you suspect water ingress or insulation damage.
- Check for moisture: Inspect the outside of the EVgo charger and cable for signs of water, condensation, or corrosion. If the unit is outdoors, verify that all gaskets and cable glands are intact.
- Dry the connector: Wipe the J1772 handle and vehicle inlet with a dry cloth. Allow time for any internal moisture to evaporate.
- Visual inspection: With power OFF and cover removed (qualified person only), look for water stains, corrosion, or white residue on internal components and wiring.
- Power-cycle after drying: Once fully dry, restore power and test. If E11 returns, discontinue use.
Persistent E11 indicates a genuine isolation problem or a failed isolation monitor. An EVgo‑authorized technician should perform megger testing and replace damaged wiring, bus bars, or the isolation monitoring module.
