Possible Causes
Insufficient ventilation around EvoCharge unit, Direct sun exposure on dark housing, Loose internal power connections, Failing cooling fan (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power before opening the enclosure. Avoid touching metal parts that may be hot.
- 1. Check installation location: Ensure the EvoCharge unit has adequate clearance on all sides and is not enclosed in a small cabinet without airflow.
- 2. Provide shade: If installed outdoors in direct sun, consider adding a sunshade that does not block ventilation openings.
- 3. Inspect internal connections: With power OFF, open the unit and check all high-current terminals for tightness and signs of overheating (browning, melted insulation).
- 4. Verify fan operation: If your model has an internal fan, power the unit (only if qualified) and start a charge to confirm the fan runs. Replace if non-functional or noisy.
- 5. Monitor temperature: After corrective actions, monitor the enclosure temperature during a full charging session. If it remains excessively hot, consult EvoCharge support.
Moderate warmth is normal, but surfaces should not be too hot to touch comfortably.
