Possible Causes
Stuck or damaged front-panel button, Liquid spill into keypad area, Faulty keypad PCB, Loose keypad ribbon cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power before removing the front panel or keypad assembly.
- 1. Check for stuck buttons: Press each button several times to ensure it moves freely and returns. If a button feels stuck, gently work it free; do not use excessive force.
- 2. Clean the front panel: Wipe the keypad area with a slightly damp cloth (power OFF) to remove dirt or sticky residue. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the charger.
- 3. Inspect keypad cable: Remove the cover and locate the keypad ribbon cable. Reseat it at both the keypad PCB and the main control board.
- 4. Look for liquid damage: If there are signs of liquid ingress (stains, corrosion), the keypad PCB may need replacement.
- 5. Replace keypad module: If E18 persists and a specific button is non-functional, replace the entire keypad/front-panel PCB with an OEM EvoCharge part.
A faulty keypad can prevent starting or stopping charging; do not attempt to bypass button inputs with improvised wiring.
