Possible Causes
Pilot signal not detected by vehicle, Vehicle not in Park or charge port not fully latched, Dirty or damaged J1772 connector pins, Misconfigured access control (RFID/app authorization required)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the connector into the vehicle inlet.
- Check vehicle status: Ensure the vehicle is in Park, ignition is OFF (if required), and any charge port door interlocks are satisfied.
- Fully insert connector: Push the J1772 handle firmly into the vehicle inlet until you hear or feel a click. A partial insertion can prevent charging.
- Clean connector: Inspect the connector pins for dirt or corrosion. Wipe the exterior with a dry cloth; do not spray cleaners into the connector.
- Check access control: If your FLO charger is configured to require authorization, start the session via the FLO app or present the authorized RFID card.
- Test with another EV or EVSE: If the vehicle charges on another station, the issue may be with the FLO unit’s pilot circuit; if no station works, contact the vehicle manufacturer.
