Charger’s cable is difficult to unwind or rewind; insulation feels stiff, especially in cold weather.

Safety first: Do not pull excessively hard on the cable; this can damage internal conductors.

• Warm the cable: In cold climates, gently warm the cable indoors before use to restore flexibility.
• Remove kinks: Lay the cable out straight and gently work out any sharp bends or twists.
• Inspect strain relief: Check where the cable enters the charger for cracks or separation. If damaged, the cable assembly should be replaced.
• Replace aged cable: If the jacket is cracked, faded, or brittle, replace the entire J1772 charge cable and handle assembly.
