Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around charger, Direct sun exposure causing enclosure overheating, Failed internal cooling fan (if equipped), Faulty temperature sensor on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to bypass thermal protection. Turn OFF power before opening the unit.
- Check installation environment: Ensure the FLO charger has the required clearance around it (per manual) and is not enclosed in a small, unventilated cabinet.
- Shade and airflow: If installed in direct sunlight, consider adding shading (without blocking vents) or improving airflow around the unit.
- Inspect vents and fan: With power OFF, check for dust, spider webs, or debris blocking any vents. If the model has an internal fan, listen for fan operation during charging; if silent and E08 occurs, the fan may have failed.
- Clean gently: Use a soft brush or low-pressure air to clear vents. Do not use water or high-pressure air.
- Technician step: A technician can open the unit, test the internal cooling fan and temperature sensor, and replace them if defective. If sensors read incorrectly, the main control board may also need replacement.
