Safety first: This involves internal high-voltage components. Turn OFF the breaker and verify absence of voltage before opening the charger.

• 1. Listen for contactor behavior: Repeated rapid clicking or no click at all when starting a charge suggests a coil or driver issue.
• 2. Inspect coil wiring: With the cover removed and power OFF, locate the main contactor and verify that the small-gauge coil wires are firmly connected.
• 3. Coil resistance check (technician only): Measure the resistance of the contactor coil. An open circuit or very low resistance indicates a bad coil and the contactor should be replaced.
• 4. Control board driver: If the coil tests good but E012 persists, the coil driver circuit on the control board is likely faulty and the board must be replaced.
