Possible Causes
Tripped or faulty breaker feeding the charger, Loose or disconnected supply wiring at charger input, Failed internal low-voltage power supply, Blown internal fuse on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the main panel before tightening any connections. Only qualified persons should open the service panel.
- 1. Check the breaker: Locate the dedicated 2-pole breaker for the Ford charger. If it is tripped, reset it once. If it trips again immediately, do not force it; there may be a short.
- 2. Test another load: If possible, verify that other loads on the same panel are working to rule out a larger power issue.
- 3. Inspect charger input (power OFF): Remove the charger cover and confirm that the supply wires are firmly attached to the input terminal block and show no signs of burning.
- 4. Internal fuse check: Many chargers include an internal low-voltage fuse. With power OFF, locate and test/replace this fuse if blown, using the exact same rating.
- 5. If still dead: The internal power supply or control board may have failed and must be replaced by an EVSE technician.
