Possible Causes
Damaged Type 2 charging cable, Bent or contaminated pins in vehicle inlet, Fault in Garo control pilot (CP) circuit on main control board, Loose connection on CP/PP terminal block inside charger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the Garo EV charger at the dedicated circuit breaker and verify with a suitable tester before opening any covers.
- Check the cable and plug: Inspect the Type 2 plug for bent pins, melted plastic, corrosion, or dirt. Clean gently with a dry, non‑metallic brush. Do not use liquids.
- Try another cable: If your Garo home charger has a Type 2 socket (not tethered), test with a known‑good cable. If E01 disappears, the original cable is faulty.
- Inspect CP/PP wiring: With power still OFF, open the front cover of the Garo charger (per the installation manual). Locate the CP and PP terminals on the control board or terminal block. Check for loose screws, broken conductors, or discoloration. Tighten terminals to the torque specified in the Garo installation guide.
- Check strain relief: Ensure the cable gland or strain relief for the tethered cable is tight and the cable sheath is not pulled out, exposing inner conductors.
- Restore power and test: Close the cover, re‑energize the breaker, and plug in the vehicle. If E01 persists, the internal CP circuit on the main control board may be defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
