Possible Causes
Broken proximity (PP) resistor in cable, Faulty PP sensing circuit on main board, Loose PP terminal connection, Damaged Type 2 socket contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the charger.
- Test with another cable: If the charger has a socket, try a different Type 2 cable. If E09 disappears, the original cable's PP resistor is likely faulty.
- Inspect socket contacts: Look for bent or recessed pins in the Type 2 socket. Clean gently with a dry brush.
- Check PP wiring: Inside the charger, locate the PP terminal and trace it to the main control board. Ensure all connections are secure and undamaged.
- Board diagnostics: If wiring and cable are good, the PP sensing circuit on the main board may be defective. Replacement of the main control board is typically required.
