Possible Causes
Moisture in Type 2 socket or cable, Damaged insulation in output wiring, Faulty insulation monitoring device (IMD) or RDC‑DD sensor, Contamination on PCB causing leakage paths
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolation faults can be hazardous. Do not bypass safety functions.
- Inspect for moisture: Check the socket, plug, and inside the enclosure for condensation or water. Dry thoroughly and identify any sealing issues.
- Check cable condition: Examine the tethered cable or socket wiring for cuts, cracks, or crushed sections.
- Clean PCB surfaces: With power OFF, inspect the main board and IMD/RDC‑DD module for dust or contamination. Clean gently with a dry brush; do not use solvents unless specified by Garo.
- Test with another vehicle/cable: If possible, test with a different EV and cable to rule out vehicle‑side isolation issues.
- Replace IMD/RDC‑DD: If E15 persists with dry, undamaged wiring and multiple vehicles, the insulation monitoring device or RDC‑DD sensor may be faulty and should be replaced.
