Possible Causes

Failed gasket on GM charger cover, Cracked enclosure, Incorrect mounting orientation allowing water to pool, Conduit entry not sealed

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If you see water inside any openings or suspect internal moisture, turn OFF the breaker and do not use the charger.

Steps:

  • Inspect mounting: Ensure the charger is mounted vertically as specified by GM and that the top is not tilted toward the wall, which can trap water.
  • Check conduit entry: Look for gaps around conduit or cable entries; these should be sealed with appropriate fittings and sealant (electrician task).
  • Drying: Allow the unit to dry for at least 24–48 hours in a dry environment before attempting to power it again.

If moisture intrusion recurs or if there are signs of internal corrosion or damage, the charger should be replaced. Do not attempt to reseal a cracked or warped GM enclosure with household sealants.
