Possible Causes
Missing or high-resistance earth connection at go-e Charger, Corroded earth bar in distribution board, Damaged PE conductor in supply cable, Internal PE sensing circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: A faulty earth connection is dangerous. Do not use the charger until the issue is resolved.
- Verify PE continuity: With power OFF, check that the earth conductor is securely connected at the charger terminal block and at the distribution board earth bar.
- Measure earth resistance: Use an earth continuity tester or multimeter to confirm low resistance between the charger PE terminal and the main earth bar. High resistance indicates a wiring or connection problem.
- Inspect cable and glands: Look for damaged insulation, crushed cable, or loose cable glands that may compromise the earth conductor.
- Check internal PE sensing: Some go-e models monitor PE integrity via the control board. If external wiring is correct but the error persists, the PE sensing circuit may be defective and the control or power board should be replaced.
- Do not bypass earth: Never connect PE to N locally or bypass protective devices. All corrections must comply with local electrical codes.
