Possible Causes

Faulty proximity switch in vehicle connector, Broken proximity wire in charge cable, Defective proximity sensing circuit on control board, Debris preventing full insertion of connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: Always de‑energize the charger at the breaker before opening the enclosure. Do not attempt repairs with live power present.

  • Check connector insertion: Ensure the GoCable plug is fully seated in the vehicle inlet. Remove and reinsert firmly until you hear/feel the latch click.
  • Inspect connector latch and button: With power OFF, verify the latch mechanism and release button move freely and are not jammed. Clean any dirt or debris around the latch with a dry cloth.
  • Examine the cable strain relief: Look for signs of cable pulling out of the charger housing or connector handle. Excessive strain can break the proximity conductor inside.
  • Internal proximity harness check: With power OFF and cover removed, locate the low‑voltage harness from the main control board to the cable gland. Confirm the proximity wire terminal is secure and not burnt.
  • Test with another vehicle (if possible): If E02 appears with multiple vehicles, the issue is likely in the charger cable or control board, not the car.
  • Persistent E02: Replace the charge cable assembly. If the fault remains after cable replacement, the main control board proximity circuit is likely defective and should be replaced by a professional.
