Possible Causes

Leakage current detected by RCD module, Damaged insulation in charge cable, Moisture inside vehicle connector or charger enclosure, Faulty ground fault sensor on RCD board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: A ground fault can be hazardous. If you smell burning, see smoke, or feel tingling when touching metal parts, stop using the charger and shut off power at the breaker immediately.

  • Visual inspection for moisture: Disconnect from vehicle. Inspect the connector for water, condensation, or corrosion. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth and allow several hours in a dry environment before retesting.
  • Check cable and housing: Look for cuts, abrasions, or crushed sections of the GoCable cord. Inspect the charger housing for cracks or signs of water ingress.
  • Verify ground connection: With power OFF, open the charger and confirm the ground (earth) wire is securely fastened to the ground terminal and chassis. Tighten any loose screws.
  • Reset RCD: Some GoCable models have an internal RCD test/reset button. After ensuring everything is dry and intact, press the reset button with power restored and see if E03 clears.
  • Insulation resistance test (advanced): A qualified technician can perform a megohmmeter test between live conductors and ground to confirm cable integrity.
  • If E03 recurs frequently: Replace the RCD / ground fault sensor module or the charge cable assembly as indicated by test results. This work should be done by a licensed electrician.
