Possible Causes
No ground connection at supply, High resistance ground path, Loose ground lug inside charger, Corroded or broken ground conductor in supply cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: A missing or poor ground is dangerous. Do not bypass or defeat ground protection.
- Verify ground at panel: Have a qualified electrician confirm that the EVSE circuit includes a proper equipment grounding conductor connected to the service ground bar.
- Inspect internal ground lug: With power OFF, open the GoCable charger and locate the green/yellow ground wire. Ensure it is firmly attached to the chassis ground stud and free of corrosion.
- Check continuity: Using a multimeter, test continuity between the charger chassis and the ground bar in the panel. Resistance should be very low.
- Correct any wiring errors: If ground is missing or incorrectly connected (e.g., neutral used as ground), have the wiring corrected to code.
- If wiring is correct but E05 remains: The ground monitoring circuit on the main control board or RCD module may be defective and require replacement.
