Possible Causes

Main contactor contacts welded closed, Faulty contactor feedback auxiliary contact, Control board misreading contactor state, Surge damage from power event

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: A welded contactor can leave the output live even when the charger appears off. Always verify absence of voltage with a meter before touching output conductors.

  • Power down fully: Turn off the EVSE breaker and confirm the display is off.
  • Inspect main contactor: Open the GoCable housing and locate the main power contactor. Look for signs of overheating or melted plastic.
  • Check mechanical operation: With power OFF, manually actuate the contactor (if possible) or listen/feel for movement when a technician briefly energizes the coil. If it is stuck, it must be replaced.
  • Verify auxiliary feedback wiring: Ensure the small control wires on the contactor auxiliary contacts are secure.
  • Replace defective contactor: If welding or mechanical failure is suspected, replace the main power contactor with an identical rated part. This should be done by a licensed electrician.
  • If E07 persists after contactor replacement: The main control board feedback circuit may be faulty.
