Possible Causes
High resistance between vehicle chassis and earth, Corroded ground pin in connector, Faulty PE monitoring circuit in charger, Use of non‑compliant adapter between charger and vehicle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Do not attempt to bypass protective earth monitoring. This protection is critical for user safety.
- Inspect connector ground pin: With power OFF, check the earth/ground pin in the GoCable plug for corrosion or damage. Clean with contact cleaner if lightly oxidized.
- Avoid adapters: Do not use third‑party adapters between the GoCable connector and the vehicle inlet unless specifically approved by the manufacturer.
- Test with another vehicle: If possible, connect to a different EV to determine whether the issue is vehicle‑specific.
- Check internal PE wiring: Inside the charger (power OFF), verify the protective earth conductor from the supply and to the output cable is securely connected.
- Persistent E08 with multiple vehicles: The PE monitoring circuit on the main control board or RCD module may be defective and require replacement.
