Possible Causes

Open or shorted pilot wire in EV cable, Failed pilot signal driver on control board, Bent or contaminated J1772 pilot pin, Loose internal pilot terminal connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF the breaker before opening the Grizzl‑E enclosure or handling internal wiring.

  • Visual check of J1772 connector: Inspect the small pilot pin inside the J1772 handle. Look for bending, corrosion, or debris. Clean gently with a dry, soft brush; do not use metal tools.
  • Inspect cable strain relief: At the bottom of the Grizzl‑E housing, check that the cable is not sharply kinked or pulled out of the strain relief. Severe bending can damage the pilot conductor.
  • Internal terminal check (advanced): With power OFF and cover removed, verify that the pilot conductor is firmly secured in its terminal on the main control board. Tighten the screw terminal gently if loose.
  • Test with another EV: If possible, connect a different vehicle to rule out a vehicle‑side pilot issue.
  • Next steps: If the pilot wire and connector look intact but E02 persists, the pilot driver circuit on the main control board is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
