Possible Causes
Incorrect DIP switch configuration for current limit, Failed PWM generator on control board, Short between pilot and ground, Damaged pilot resistor network
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: De‑energize the unit before opening.
- Verify DIP switch settings: Compare the DIP switch positions inside the Grizzl‑E to the installation manual for the desired maximum current. Correct any misconfiguration.
- Inspect pilot wiring: Ensure the pilot conductor is not pinched or contacting ground inside the enclosure.
- Check for contamination: Dirt or moisture bridging the pilot pin to ground in the J1772 connector can distort the duty cycle. Clean and dry the connector thoroughly.
- Resolution: If settings and wiring are correct but E13 persists with different vehicles, the PWM generator or resistor network on the main control board is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
