Possible Causes
Loose contactor mounting, Worn or vibrating contactor core, Low supply voltage causing coil chatter, Contactor nearing end of life
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power before touching or tightening internal components.
- Confirm source: Remove the cover (with power OFF) and identify the contactor as the noise source during a brief test (re‑energize with cover temporarily in place if safe).
- Tighten mounting: Ensure the contactor is firmly mounted to the backplate and that the backplate is secure to the enclosure.
- Check supply voltage: Measure line voltage under load; low voltage can cause coil hum and should be corrected at the supply.
- Replace if needed: If the contactor continues to buzz loudly despite correct voltage and tight mounting, replace the contactor assembly.
