Possible Causes

Damaged Type 2 charge cable pilot pin, Bent or contaminated pins in vehicle inlet, Faulty control pilot (CP) circuit on main control board, Loose harness connection between CP circuit and relay board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the Hyundai home charger at the dedicated breaker and verify no LEDs are lit before touching the connector or opening any covers.

  • Inspect the Type 2 connector: Check the small pilot and proximity pins for bending, corrosion, or melted plastic. Clean gently with a soft brush and isopropyl alcohol; do not use metal tools.
  • Check vehicle inlet: Look for dirt, insects, or deformation in the car’s charge port. Clean with a dry, lint‑free cloth only.
  • Reseat cable connections: With power OFF, remove the front cover of the Hyundai wallbox (if user‑serviceable per manual). Verify the charge cable harness is fully seated on the main control board and relay/power board.
  • Power cycle: Restore power at the breaker, wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the vehicle. Observe if E01 clears.
  • If E01 persists: The CP circuit on the main control board is likely defective. Do not bypass safety circuits. Contact a qualified EVSE technician to test pilot signal levels and replace the control board if needed.
