Possible Causes

Incorrect access control mode (RFID/app required), Vehicle timer or charging schedule active, Weak contact in Type 2 connector, Misconfigured current limit too low for vehicle

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This is primarily a configuration and connection issue; no need to open the charger.

  • Check access mode: In the Hyundai charger app or front panel, verify whether RFID or app authorization is required. Present a valid card or start the session via the app.
  • Vehicle settings: On the EV, disable any delayed charging timers or schedules and set charging to immediate.
  • Reconnect plug: Unplug and firmly reinsert the Type 2 connector until it clicks. Ensure there is no play in the connection.
  • Adjust current limit: Confirm the charger’s maximum current is not set below the vehicle’s minimum requirement (e.g., some EVs may not start below ~6–8 A).
  • If still no start and no error: Try another EV or another EVSE to isolate whether the issue is with the Hyundai charger or the vehicle.
