Possible Causes
Failed proximity switch in J+ Booster vehicle connector, Broken proximity conductor in charging cable, Faulty proximity detection circuit on main control board, Contamination or wear in connector latch mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the charger from both vehicle and mains before handling the connector.
- Check connector latch: Ensure the latch on the J+ Booster vehicle plug moves freely and is not jammed by dirt or debris. Clean with a dry cloth; do not lubricate with oil.
- Inspect the connector body: Look for cracks, melted plastic, or signs of overheating around the latch area. Any deformation can affect the proximity switch.
- Test cable flex: While the charger is unplugged, gently flex the cable near the connector. If the connector feels loose or you hear internal rattling, the proximity switch or wiring may be broken.
- Reconnect firmly: Plug the connector fully into the vehicle until the latch engages. A half-inserted plug can cause E02.
- Try another outlet / supply: Rule out supply-side issues by connecting the J+ Booster to a known-good socket or circuit.
- If E02 persists: The proximity switch assembly in the connector or the main control board proximity circuit likely needs replacement by a service technician.
