Possible Causes
Main contactor contacts welded closed, Faulty relay weld detection circuit on main control board, Severe overcurrent event in previous session, Mechanical failure of contactor return spring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: A welded relay can leave live voltage on the connector even when the charger appears off. Do not use the charger until inspected.
- Immediately disconnect from mains: Unplug the J+ Booster or switch off the upstream breaker.
- Do not reconnect to vehicle: Keep the connector away from the vehicle inlet until the fault is resolved.
- Do not attempt to free the relay: Tapping or shaking the unit is dangerous and ineffective.
- Contact a qualified technician: The main contactor and weld detection circuitry must be tested and likely replaced. This involves high-voltage work and should not be done by the user.
