Possible Causes
Faulty PWM generator on main control board, Short between pilot and ground in output cable, Incorrect pilot resistor network on vehicle connector PCB, Electrical noise interference on pilot line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Pilot line issues generally do not expose live voltage, but always disconnect from mains before inspection.
- Inspect output cable: Look for damage, especially near the connector where the pilot conductor can be stressed.
- Clean connector pins: Use a dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the Type 2 connector pins. Do not use solvents.
- Try another vehicle: If E13 only appears with one car, its inlet electronics may be out of spec.
- Power reset: Unplug from mains for 2–3 minutes and retry.
- Persistent E13 on multiple vehicles: Indicates a likely failure of the pilot PWM generator or resistor network on the main control board or connector PCB; professional repair is required.
