Possible Causes

Undervoltage on contactor coil supply, Loose contactor mounting, Worn or pitted contactor contacts, Faulty coil driver on Jaguar PCB causing rapid switching

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Buzzing may indicate arcing; isolate power before opening the unit.

  • Step 1 – Observe behavior: Note whether the noise is continuous or only at start/stop of charging.
  • Step 2 – Check supply voltage: Have an electrician verify that the control voltage feeding the contactor coil is within Jaguar specifications.
  • Step 3 – Inspect contactor: With power OFF, check that the contactor is firmly mounted and that its terminals are tight.
  • Step 4 – Replace contactor: If the armature is loose or contacts are badly worn, replace the Jaguar-specified contactor.
  • Step 5 – PCB driver check: If the coil is being rapidly switched on/off by the PCB, the driver circuit or firmware may be faulty and require service.
