Possible Causes
Deformed plastic on Type 2 plug, Debris or foreign object in plug or vehicle inlet, Misaligned latch mechanism, Non-standard or damaged vehicle inlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the connector; you may damage the vehicle inlet or cable.
- Step 1 – Inspect plug: Examine the Jaguar Type 2 plug for cracks, deformation, or melted areas. Replace the cable if damaged.
- Step 2 – Inspect vehicle inlet: Look for dirt, stones, or other debris inside the vehicle’s charge port. Remove gently with a dry, non-metallic tool.
- Step 3 – Check latch movement: Ensure the latch on the plug moves freely and is not obstructed.
- Step 4 – Test on another EV: If the plug fits another vehicle normally, the issue may be with the original vehicle’s inlet and should be inspected by a dealer.
