Possible Causes

Damaged Type 2 charge cable, Bent or contaminated pins in vehicle inlet, Faulty pilot signal circuit on Jaguar wallbox control board, Loose control wiring between pilot terminal and main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the Jaguar home charger at the dedicated breaker/isolator before touching any wiring. Do not work on live circuits.

  • Step 1 – Power cycle: Switch the charger off at the breaker for 2 minutes, then turn it back on. Reconnect the vehicle and see if E01 clears.
  • Step 2 – Inspect the Type 2 connector: Check the Jaguar-branded Type 2 plug for bent, recessed, or burnt pins. Clean light debris with a dry, soft brush only. Do not use liquids or metal tools.
  • Step 3 – Check vehicle inlet: Inspect the vehicle’s charge port for dirt, corrosion, or damage. If pins are burnt or heavily corroded, stop and contact a Jaguar service center.
  • Step 4 – Test with another cable (if detachable): If your Jaguar wallbox uses a detachable Type 2 cable, try a known-good cable. If the error disappears, replace the original cable.
  • Step 5 – Internal pilot wiring (advanced): With power OFF and cover removed, verify that the pilot (CP) conductor from the cable is firmly connected to the Jaguar wallbox main control PCB terminal. Look for loose screws, broken conductors, or heat damage. Tighten terminal screws gently if loose.
  • When to stop: If the pilot conductor or PCB looks burnt, or E01 persists after cable replacement, do not continue. Refit the cover and contact a qualified EVSE technician or Jaguar-approved installer.
