Possible Causes

Broken or high-resistance earth conductor, Incorrect bonding of earth at supply, Faulty earth monitoring circuit on Jaguar PCB, Corroded earth terminal inside wallbox

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: A missing or faulty earth is dangerous. Do not use the charger until the issue is resolved.

  • Step 1 – Visual check: Inspect the earth conductor from the distribution board to the Jaguar wallbox. Look for cuts, loose terminations, or corrosion.
  • Step 2 – Tighten earth terminals: With power OFF, tighten the earth terminal screw inside the charger and at the upstream isolator.
  • Step 3 – Continuity test: A qualified person should measure earth continuity between the charger earth terminal and the main earth bar. Resistance should be very low (per local regulations).
  • Step 4 – Check bonding: Ensure the charger’s earth is correctly bonded to the building’s protective earth system, not to a separate or floating earth.
  • Step 5 – PCB earth monitor: If earth continuity is good but E08 persists, the earth monitoring circuit on the Jaguar control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
