Possible Causes
Internal SPD module tripped or damaged, Recent lightning strike or severe surge event, Loose SPD wiring to line/earth, SPD end-of-life indicator triggered
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Surges can damage multiple components. Isolate the charger and visually inspect before reuse.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection: With power OFF, open the Jaguar wallbox and locate the SPD module (often with status indicator windows). Check for discoloration or a tripped indicator.
- Step 2 – Check indicator: If the SPD shows a red or ‘fault’ indicator, it has reached end of life and must be replaced.
- Step 3 – Tighten connections: Ensure all SPD connections to line, neutral, and earth are tight and undamaged.
- Step 4 – Replace SPD: Install a Jaguar-specified replacement SPD module of the same rating. This should be done by a qualified electrician.
- Step 5 – Post-replacement test: After replacement, restore power and verify that E10 clears and the charger operates normally. If not, additional surge damage to the control PCB may have occurred.
