Possible Causes
Vehicle injecting DC fault current into earth, Faulty DC leakage sensor in Jaguar wallbox, Wiring error bypassing sensor, Internal insulation breakdown in cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: DC fault currents can compromise RCD operation. Do not continue using the charger until the cause is identified.
- Step 1 – Reset and retest: Turn off the charger for 2 minutes, then restore power and attempt a charge. If E19 reappears immediately, stop.
- Step 2 – Try another EV: Connect a different vehicle. If E19 only occurs with one EV, have that vehicle inspected by a Jaguar dealer or qualified EV technician.
- Step 3 – Inspect cable and insulation: With power OFF, visually inspect the Jaguar cable and internal wiring for damage or moisture.
- Step 4 – Sensor inspection: Locate the DC leakage sensor (often combined with the AC residual current sensor). Check that all conductors pass through the sensor core as specified and that wiring is intact.
- Step 5 – Replace sensor module: If wiring is correct and multiple vehicles trigger E19, replace the DC leakage sensor module with a Jaguar-approved part.
