Possible Causes

Lock actuator jammed in extended position, Debris around lock pin in Type 2 socket, Software glitch leaving lock energized, Damaged lock position sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not use excessive force on the cable; you may damage the connector or vehicle inlet.

  • Step 1 – Stop session: Use the Jaguar app or vehicle controls to stop charging and wait 30–60 seconds for the lock to release.
  • Step 2 – Emergency release: If available, use the manual release mechanism described in the Jaguar wallbox manual.
  • Step 3 – Clean socket area: Once removed, inspect and gently clean the socket area around the lock pin with a dry brush.
  • Step 4 – Test lock operation: With power ON and cover removed (technician only), command lock/unlock and observe actuator movement. Replace the actuator if it sticks.
