Possible Causes
Damaged or improperly seated enclosure gasket, Cracked housing or cable gland, Incorrect mounting orientation, Missing sealing plugs on unused knockouts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Water inside an energized charger is extremely dangerous. Turn off power at the breaker immediately and do not use the unit until fully dried and repaired.
- Open and dry the unit (power OFF): Remove the cover and gently dry any visible moisture with lint-free cloths. Allow the unit to air dry for at least 24 hours in a warm, dry location.
- Inspect gaskets and seals: Check the perimeter gasket on the cover, the cable gland around the J1772 cable, and any conduit entries. Replace any cracked or flattened gaskets or cable glands.
- Check housing for cracks: Look for impact damage or UV degradation on outdoor units. Replace the enclosure housing if compromised.
- Seal unused openings: Ensure all unused knockouts or holes are sealed with appropriate plugs rated for outdoor use.
- Reassemble and test: Once completely dry and resealed, restore power and monitor for any abnormal behavior. If faults occur, the main control board may have been damaged by moisture and require replacement.
